The ambiance at the Captain David Kelley House is warm, friendly and welcoming. We promise our guests a uniquely enjoyable Cape Cod experience. To that end, we created these policies to help us provide consistent service, to be a good neighbor, and to remain a viable business. Please review our policies prior to making your reservations so that we might avoid any surprises at check-in.
Reservations: Please call, email or use our electronic form to request a reservation.
In Season Rates (Memorial Day weekend through Columbus Day weekend) $165-$190 (USD) per room per night based on double or single occupancy. When applicable, there is an additional $25 charge for a third or fourth person. Rates subject to change. Minimum stays for holidays, events and in-season weekends.
Please call for off-season rates and specials.
Lodging tax: A lodging tax of 9.7% will be added to your bill, payable at check-in.
Deposits: To hold your room(s), a 50% deposit is due within seven days of placing your reservation. Personal checks are accepted for reservations made more than 15 days in advance. Deposits will not be refunded for failure to arrive, arrival after confirmed arrival date, or premature departure.
Balance due: Balance is due at check-in.
Check-in: Guests are invited to check-in daily between the hours of 3:00 and 6:30 pm. We cannot accommodate early arrivals, as staff is busy cleaning and preparing guestrooms. Please make your travel plans accordingly. If you anticipate a late arrival please call ahead to make special arrangements.
Registration: Guests will receive house and guestroom keys when they register at check-in.
Breakfasts: Hot multi-course breakfast is served daily from 8:00 – 9:30. To ensure everyone enjoys a hot breakfast when the house is full, guests will be given a choice of two breakfast sittings.
Checkout: 11:00 am. This is necessary to prepare rooms for incoming guests. No exceptions. Please plan accordingly.
Early departure: There can be no refund for early departure or failure to use one’s entire reservation.
Cancellations: Written cancellation received 15 or more calendar days prior to your reserved arrival date will be refunded in full, minus a $25 processing fee.
Written cancellations received less than 15 calendar days prior to your reserved arrival date will result in a refund of that portion of your reservation that is re-rented, less a $25 processing fee.
An email to www.info@cdkhouse.com may serve as a bona fide written cancellation notice.
Allergies: Please alert your hosts to all food allergies.
Turn down service: The CDK House offers nightly turn down service – closure of blinds, turn down of bed linens, lighting of lamps & placement of chocolates on your nightstand. Please let us know if you prefer to forego our turn down service.
Housekeeping: Please use the room tag on your inside doorknob to let housekeeping know your room is ready to be made up for the day. Sorry, no door tag on your room doorknob will result in no housekeeping that day.
Bath linens: The CDK House is environmentally friendly and committed to minimizing its carbon footprint. If you want fresh daily bath linens, please leave used linens on the bathroom floor. If you choose to use your bath linens for more than one day, please hang them on the towel rack.
Quiet hours: Quiet hours are between 11:00 pm and 8:00 am daily. This applies to all common areas: living- dining room, porches, deck and grounds.
Use of common areas is intended for the enjoyment and comfort of all our guests.
Children: The CDK House seeks to provide a quiet, restful, and romantic environment best suited for adults. However, accommodations are available for children fourteen and older. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
Pets: We love animals, but out of courtesy to our guests with allergies, we do not accommodate pets.
Smoking: Smoking is permitted only in designated areas of the yard. There is no smoking allowed anywhere inside the house.
Candles and/or incense: No candle, incense or open flame of any kind is allowed in this circa 1835 wood structure.
DVD library: Guests may borrow DVDs from the CDK library.
Wireless: The CDK House provides complimentary high-speed wireless Internet access throughout the Inn. Just ask for the day’s password.
Parking: We offer both on-street and off-street parking.
Septic: The CDK House is a charming historical structure with older plumbing. Please use guest room waste baskets; flush only toilet tissue.
H’ordeuvres: Late afternoons during season, complimentary h’ordeuvres will be available on our cocktail porch for the enjoyment of our guests. While our insurance does not permit us to provide alcohol, wine glasses and bottle openers will always be available for your use.
Common refrigerator: A small refrigerator is available for guest use. Please be courteous and thoughtful of your fellow houseguests. Your cooperation is much appreciated.
Icemaker: An ice machine is located in the main house; ice buckets and glasses are available in each guest room.
Wedding parties: As a precaution, reservations for wedding parties necessitate our collecting a $700 deposit to cover potential property damage above and beyond normal wear and tear. This damage deposit is payable by check no less than 30 days prior to arrival. This is in addition to the 50% room reservation deposit and is refundable within 14 calendar days following the wedding party’s departure. Assessment and repair of damaged oriental carpets or antiques may delay your refund. If this should happen, you will be notified by email. It is not our intent to profit from this policy, only to protect our investment in the Captain David Kelley House.
